Diptyque PHILOSYKOS SOLID PERFUME is my new on the go fragrance
I have been obsessed with fragrance that leans toward neutral, woody and fresh green notes, and I discovered DIPTYQUE Philosykos Solid Perfume lately. The alcohol free wax is a scented balm that can be applied with the fingertips, to reveal the green, milky and subtly woody accents of Philosykos. It is inspired by the enfleurage technique used in times past to capture the scent of flowers.
“Philosykos” means “friend of the fig tree” in Greek. A tree whose leaves and a few branches brought back in a memory box was the source of inspiration.
The Scent of Philoskykos
The memory of a Greek summer at Mount Pelion where, to get to the sea, there was a natural grove of wild sun-soaked fig trees to cross. Philosykos is an ode to the entire fig tree: the green freshness of the leaves, the milky flavour of the figs, the density of the white wood.

The Packaging and Price
This solid perfume is housed in a beautiful special edition of metal case with Fig tree enamel. The scented wax is refillable and you can interchange with different scents. Diptyque has launched few more scents in solid perfume, such as Do San, Eau Capitale, Eau Rose, 34 BOULEVARD SAINT GERMAIN and L’OMBRE DANS L’EAU. It comes with a small string sack that is perfect to carry in the purse.
The Solid perfume retails at USD68 and the set of 2 refills retails at USD 40. I would recommend to try the scent at the store and purchase through selfridges.com at better price of USD58 to save some money. However, the Diptyque website offers great sample gift selection.
Why I love about DIPTYQUE Philosykos Solid Perfume
This Philosykos Solid Perfume is a subtle scent that only lasts few hours and it slowly fades away with fresh light scent. I love the after scent of it. The refillable compact size is perfect to carry in the purse or pocket so I can take it with me without worrying spill a liquid perfume.
