How to make Korean Tuna Kimbap Sushi Roll? Kimbap ( Gimbap 김밥 ) is Korean sushi roll that is seaweed (김) wrap with cooked rice and other ingredients like vegetables, meats, eggs… etc.
The process of making kimbap is slightly lengthy, but the taste and the final presentation is rewarded. There are so many varieties, but Tuna Kimbap especially is one of my favorites. Because it is creamy, savory, sweet, and cheesy. Adults and kids will love this dish for sure. Here is how to make Korean Tuna Kimbap Sushi Roll.
The ingredients are really simple and easy to find at most supermarkets. There are couple items you may only purchase at Asian Markets, like yellow pickled radish and burdock. (You may skip this part). If there is a Korean market near you, they are usually in the cold pickled section. The package looks like the picture below. They are made for kimbap, perfectly sliced in to stripes for you to roll in the seaweed.
The ingredients to make 4 rolls of kimbap :
– 2 Cups of cooked rice (About 1 cup of pre-cooked rice)
– 1 Can of Tuna
– 4 sheets of Sushi seaweed
– Pickled Yellow radish and burdock
– 1 Carrot cut into strips
– 2 Eggs
– 2 Sheets of American Cheese

Now you have all the ingredients to make kimbap. The final step is the fun part of all. The filling depends on how much you prefer to add in the roll, there is no standard amount or rice or filling you have to make. As long as you can roll it up and it won’t break the seaweed.
